Rain, Rain, Go Away

This is the view out of our back slider. The water is creeping closer and closer. We are praying that we are able to keep our basement water free. What a mess!

Happy Holidays

Claudia, Constance and Trey at the Stegenga Side
Brendan holding Olivia, Trey, Sadie, Karsyn, Clay and Jase at the Slotman Side

This has been a pretty great holiday season so far. One day Trey told us that Christmas was about toys, not Jesus and I realized how much work we had ahead of us. We got a really great book about Mary and Joseph and how baby Jesus was born. It is very rewarding to see your child start to love the Lord. It melts my heart every night when he prays.

Look who's crawling...

Yep, that's right our little Jase Aiden! I can't believe how quickly this last 7 months has gone. I think I am going to have my hands full with two busy little boys:) Thank You God for that!

PS...If you are wondering what is going on in the background. That is Scott with the Nerf gun. He loves it just as much as Trey.

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween! We had much better timing this year trick or treating. We had a chance to see Jesse, Deanne, and Sadie and also Jon, Claudia, and Constance who we normally miss. Even if it was only a few minutes it was nice to see the kids dressed up. Here are some pictures of the kids.

Pumpkin Carving

This weekend we carved pumpkins. Trey did not like pulling out the pumpkin guts. He said it was "disgusting". We even washed the seeds and baked them for daddy.

Funny Notes...

Jase is quite something. I always thought that Trey was a handful...now I am just beginning to see how crazy my life is going to get very soon, when he starts scooting around. Jase has a sparkling personality much like his brother but can be pretty demanding...just ask his Grandma. I spent most of my Sunday laughing at him. He has learned to blow in and out of his nose. I am not sure if he just think it's cool or if he like the rush it gives him from sorting so much air. I have never seen a baby so into baby food. I am lucky to get two or three bottles in him a day. Everything from pears and applesauce to peas and carrots, loves them all. You might be able to see that he has gotten his two bottom teeth. Jase and his cousin Clay got their first tooth on the same day. Jase still refuses to sit up. I think he can do it but just doesn't want to put the effort into it. Why sit up when you can lay down!

Trey has been busy calling big bucks with his deer call...thanks Grandpa! He has been asking me when Grandpa can take him up north hunting. He loves to spend time with the boys talking about hunting, fishing, or the big game on TV. He makes a great companion to his Grandpas and Dad. One night Scott was getting ready to go golfing with his family and he was talking about how he only had 6 golf balls and would probably need more. So from that day forward the game of golf is called "6 balls" according to Trey. Below is a preview of Halloween. He is Bob the Builder. He wears the safety glasses and hard hat sometimes all day long and walks around pounding on the walls and singing "Can we fix it, yes we can".

I am so lucky and blessed to have these two boys. I would not trade the circles under my eyes (that I get from Jase waking up sometime several times a night) for anything. God is so good.

Check out their new pictures on the Captured Memories link of the boys (Two Brothers). My cousin and her friend started a business doing their hobby and do a great job!

Terrible

In front of Informs there was a little boy hit riding his bike to school. Jill, my co-worker, was one of the first people at the scene. She was a few cars behind the lady that hit the little boy. He was only 11 years old. His mother was also at the scene of the accident screaming for her child. I cannot imagine the pain she must be going thru. I was not in the office today but I have spoken with a few of the girls in the office this morning who watched this event unfold.

Please pray of the family of the boy who will be struggling to make sense out of this terrible day, please pray for the driver, and for all the other people that were there today to help try to save the boy.

Take time out to hug your kids and loved ones today. We never know what day may be our last day or even worse their last day.

Look what Lenny brought over...

Lenny brought over a big tractor for me to look at. I liked pretending to drive it. Maybe someday! I also learned how to ride my tricycle. I have been practicing all summer and finally figured it out. Little Jase...he just sleeps.

Labor Day

We had a great Labor Day camping up at the Bryan's. It was Jase's first vacation. He was such a good boy. Trey had so much fun with his new girlfriend, Gracie. He talks about her all the time. They played so well. Trey rode his quad, fished, watched deer with Grandpa and was wiped out when we got home.
Thanks for letting crash your party!

Bathing Buddies

Trey and Jase's first bath together. They are best friends already!

Beach Days

I can not believe how fast this summer has gone. It seems like it just started. Here are pictures of us and Grandma at Dumont Lake. We went two Fridays ago...until Trey pooped his pants. I hope potty training clicks in soon.

Jase's first ceral

Jase got to try something else besides a bottle on Saturday. It is so much fun to watch your baby learn new things.

Big Brother!

On Friday April 11, Trey finally got to be a big brother. Jase Aiden was born at 8:02 AM weighing in a 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long. Everything went really well. I am surprised at how well I feel just after a week of healing. Of course getting used to feeding a newborn every 2-3 hours is still hard getting used to. Trey is having a slight problem adjusting. He has been pretty demanding the last few days and refuses to sleep in his own bed. Jase has turned his world upside down but Trey does love his brother very much and is always very concerned about where he is and what he is doing. It is so amazing how much you can love a little one that has no real personality yet. God is so good!

PS. I can't post pictures at home...dial up...gotta love it! I will get them up asap.

I'm TWO!

Mom has not done a very good job at posting my blog lately. Things have been busy at our house. We celebrated my 2nd birthday. Mom and Dad can't believe that I can be two already! I have been busy helping mom getting ready for my brother, Jase's arrival. Two more months and I will be a big brother. I have been having winter fun with dad. I love to ride on the snowmobile around the house with him. Maybe next year I will have my own to drive.
