We spent last weekend up north on Mullet Lake with Grandpa Nyboer and Janie, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Cherish, Brendan Karsyn and Clayton. We had a great time. The 4 hours in the car was a little much at times. Mostly because Jase screamed for the last 1/2 hour both ways.
We had good weather. It wasn't really hot but nice enough to play in the water and enjoy the sunshine. On Sunday we took a drive the Bay Harbor and saw Beauty in the Beast. Trey was (in true Trey fashion) afraid of the Beast. But he was soooo good. He sat still for over 3 hours. We had smores, went on boat rides, and went fishing.
We do not get away very often, sometimes we forget how bad we need it. We love spending time with our family. Thanks for putting up with our craziness for the weekend!
I have been pretty bad at keeping up. Sorry about that. I will try to do a quick recap of the last couple of months.
Here we are at John Ball Park Zoo. This was Mother's Day weekend. The boys went fishing to Lake Erie so we planned a fun day at the zoo. We were supposed to go to Binder Park with Aunt Barb and Aunt Lindsey but it was raining. After getting lost downtown GR trying to find the Children's Museum, during the 5/3 River Bank Run, we settled for John Ball!
Grandma and her boys!
Jase's first haircut. I will have to check the date. It was the middle of April. Mama gave him a buzz cut. He hated it.
The turkey hunters. Grandpa and Trey went turkey hunting several times this past turkey season. They did not shoot one but made a ton of memories. Trey loves his Grandpa!
The boys playing at the park by our house. So cute.
The boys have been really enjoying the Spring weather. They could spend all day outside. Jase wanders around, up and down the driveway, usually with his rake. Trey has quite the imagination. He spends most of his time jumping around singing some Backyardigan song.
We had a busy but great weekend. On Saturday morning we decorated our Easter Eggs. Trey did a great job not making too big of a mess while Jase did his favorite thing...he ate:)
Scott and Trey made Jase's birthday present. They did an excellent job. It turned out so cute. I am very exited to watch the boys this summer put it to use.
Brendan turned 7 and Clayton turned 1. What a little man Brendan is becoming. I love to listen to him talk to his Grandpas and Uncles. He reminds me so much of Jeff and Scott. Jeff and Cherish will be adding one more to the mix. They are having baby #4 in October. What a blessing of another little one.
And Jase got in his first molar. I wondered why he was so crabby on Saturday. I thought his earache was back with a fever and running nose....I should have known. Just another tooth!
First of all, I can't believe that my baby is 3 years old. Time just goes too fast.
We were very blessed to have our families over for Trey's 3rd Birthday on Saturday. This year's theme was..... hunting. I get to (re) hear all the hunting stories from Grandpa and Uncle Mike's hunting experiences thru Trey so the theme is only fitting. He really gets into it. I am sure that his Great Grandpa Stegenga is smiling in heaven:)
We are so lucky to have these two boys and a great family who loves them as much as we do.
One of the benefits living on a hill is all we have to do is walk outside for some sledding. This spring I can tell you can about the cons...wiping out. Trey has had many cuts and bruises from this.
On Thursday we all spent over an hour outside sledding together. I was not sure how Jase was going to react. He seemed to enjoy himself. He sat there and just watched us.
Here are the boys taking a nice warm bath after being out in the cold. Trey got a Bath Blizard for Christmas...it's pretty cool. The whole tub gets full of bubbles.
Here is "Trouble" as I like to call him...doing what he he does best...getting into trouble!
